Captured! A Pokèmon Story The fields are peaceful for now. The humans have gone to better hunting grounds, leaving us to greive for our lost family and friends and rebuild our trampled homes. Today we lost my brother, I shall miss him dearly but know I am better off than many other families. Our Pidge neighbors were almost all captured, except that the ones knocked unconcious during the battle and decided worthless by the humans. Without warning a set of Weedles jump to the top of the rock in the middle of our field, acting as our designated alarm. Humans are coming, pokèmon trainers as they call themselves. The littles run for cover and I follow close behind, ready to gather up any that trip or fall. Nearly to safety, one of my sister's daughters begins to fall behind. I gently but firmly grab her nape in my teeth and run carrying the little one with me. She slows me down but I shudder to think of the outcome should the humans catch her. The humans have longer legs though, and one catches up to me. I set down the young girl down behind me and turn to face the human. I must distract the human long enough for her to escape, even if it results in my own capture. "All right!" the human says in his own language, "A Pikachu!" That is not my name but the ignorent humans simply put together the basic sylables of our language to name us. Translated his words and pernounciation meant something more along the lines of "soup-cat". He releases one of his captured Pokèmon to battle me. It is a Pidge, I recognize him as being one of my neighbors. Apparently he came back after hearing that our kind lived here. I feel bad about doing this but I do what I must. The human is not aware of the Pidge weakness towards electricity. I attack quickly, before my former friend can react. "PI-kachu!" I shout and release the energy from where it was stored in my cheeks. The bird flinches but does not fall, not yet anyway. Unfortunatly the human still has another Pokèmon. He unsummons his Pidge and send out something I don't recognize. It is some kind of plant Pokèmon but not one from around here. I've never even seen a trainer passing through here with one. A rare one, perhaps? But there is no time for speculation. I use my electric attack again, catching the newly released Pokèmon off guard, but it's effect is less than satisfactory. It counter attacks, saying something bizaar along the lines of "Bulba". This is kinda embarising, I'm being beaten up by a plant! Is the little away yet? I steal a glance behind me. Good, the child is gone. I decide to withdraw, my getting captured would not help matters at all. I turn to run but barely take a single step before I feel something thud against my back. It's a Pokèball, that damned human construct. It opens and I feel myself being sucked in despite my efforts to get away from it. The inside of the ball is red and blue, and very very small. I can't begin to wonder how my entire body even fits inside. I struggle, pushing against the walls with all my strength, searching for some way to open it. But to no avail, the ball shrinks further and I hear a noise that could only be it locking me in. Faintly I can hear the human outside cheering as a robotic-like voice recites information about me and my kind. I lower my head in defeat. I am captured. There is no escape. I'll be a soul-less monster for my fellow Pokèmon to fear. Once captured there is no escape. No escape but the final death.
