An In-depth Analysis of the Mysidian Legend =========================================== Chapter I: Cecil One to be born from a dragon Cecil's journey and enlightenment began with the fighting of the Mist Dragon. Thus, as a paladin, he was born from a dragon. Please note that neither of his parents was a dragon; that would be a genetics problem no one would be able to figure out. Hoisting the light... and the dark By his very deul nature of Dark Knight/Paladin, Cecil has the experiences of being a warrior for both light and dark. Arises high upin the sky to the still land Using the Big Whale, Cecil flies to the moon, a land of stillness and unlife. Little gets higher than the moon, though the observance about the moon being still was not wholely accurate. It brings another promise to mother earth The promise of continued existance is the one that Cecil brings to earth, by fighting the creature that would destroy it. The 'it' part is just to confuse you. With a bounty and mercy Got me on this one. I think they just decided it needed to be a verse longer so you listened to the cool music longer. Chapter II: Big Whale One to be born from a dragon The continent where Mysidia is located is shaped like a dragon. Of course the Big Whale came out of the wrong end, more like 'One to be vomited from a dragon', but it's better than it being shitted out. Hoisting the light... and the dark Well, this bugger was underwater for a long time and it's dark as far down as it was, but then it came into the light. Arises high up in the sky to the still land Okay, the whole use of this boat is to fly to the moon. I should _hope_ this one applies. It brings another promise to mother earth It brings Cecil, Rydia, Rosa, Kain, and Edge. I'd say it brings quite a few promises to mother earth. With a bounty and mercy Um... A bounty of heroes? Chapter III: Rydia One to be born from a dragon This could apply in two ways. The first is that her mother showed the longest appearance as the Mist Dragon. That would be the somewhat more literal approach. The other is that the dragon in question is Leviathan. Rydia was swallowed a somewhat useless party member. She returned, born from Leviathan, a powerful magic user. Hoisting the light... and the dark Another verse that has two possible meanings. The first is that Rydia weilded both white and black magic. The second is that she joined your party above ground once and underground later, therefore being of light and dark. Arises high up in the sky to the still land Rydia traveled with Cecil to the moon on the Big Whale. It brings another promise to mother earth Without Rydia's spells the battle would be a hell of a lot harder, wouldn't it? So therefore Rydia brings the promise of victory against the evil that would harm the earth. With a bounty and mercy If I were to actually look up the individual words maybe I'd come up with something. Chapter IV: Palom and Porom One to be born from a dragon Both were born in Mysidia, the city in the eye of a dragon shaped continent. Hoisting the light... and the dark One is a weilder of black magic and the other of white magic. Arises high up in the sky to the still land Okay, they don't go to the moon. That's the only flaw in this particular theory. It brings another promise to mother earth By sacrificing their lives, they allowed Cecil and friends to continue on and save the world as opposed to being turned into jelly. With a bounty and mercy Maybe _one_ of them has this attribute... Chapter V: Edward Okay, yes, I was kidding on this one. Chapter VI: Kain One to be born from a dragon His father was a Dragon Knight (Dragoon), just like he was in the game. So he was born of a Dragon Knight. Hoisting the light... and the dark He was on both sides, switching frequently. So he got the best (or worst) of both worlds. Arises high up in the sky to the still land Not only does Kain gets to go on the Big Whale to the moon, but he can arise (jump) in the sky on his own too! It brings another promise to mother earth Once again, member of the party who kicked Zemus' ass. With a bounty and mercy I promise I'll look it up and think of something one of these days... Chapter VII: Golbez One to be born from a dragon Well, he was born of a moonie, and that's a strange enough creature anyways. Hoisting the light... and the dark This dude was really evil, but he was the one who 'hoisted' that crystal up to the moon that let Zemus be hurt. Arises high up in the sky to the still land Golbez was the first one to arise in the entire game! He was on the moon before you could blink! It brings another promise to mother earth The promise to go away and never come back. With a bounty and mercy This just doesn't apply to him at all Chapter VIII: Anna One to be born from a dragon Sorry, no, this just don't work. Unless there's something we don't know about Anna's mother... Maybe (see next line), Anna's more like Rydia than Tellah says and they're both dragon-spawn. Hoisting the light... and the dark Using the line of Tellah's, 'Just like Anna's childhood', which was refering to Rydia, I figure Anna was a black/white mage or sage. So she hoisted both kinds of magic. Arises high up in the sky to the still land Translation: Anna kicks the bucket. The arising part is Anna going up to 'heaven' and no land is stiller than the land of the dead. It brings another promise to mother earth The promise that Edward will never reproduce With a bounty and mercy Much mercy there. Let Edward never breed!
