Angel Eyes: the Eternal Circle by Rydia Chapter 2 Jeric looked into the silver bowl of water, waiting for a message or vision that might come to him. It had been a number of days since Mother last Sent to him, so he wasn't surprised to see her image appear in the water. "Jeric," she said, "I have a job for you." He raised an eyebrow. It wasn't like her to take him away from his studies. "What is it?" he asked. "The souls set to protect this planet have been reborn and reawakened again. I need you to find them and aid them." He blinked in surprise. "Mother, that hardly seems to be your style. What is gong on that has you so worried as to assist _them_?" "I have my disagreements with their methods, yes, but I am still a mother. I won't let the world die for a difference of opinion." Jeric was really starting to worry now. "Mother, will you _please_ tell me just what is going on?!" There was genuine fear in her eyes. "They're back. The demons from beyond the stars are back and they'll destroy us all." The image faded from the dish and Jeric slunk to his bed of cushions and pillows to think. Mother probably didn't realize she had never mentioned these demons before now. But anything that could have her scared was no joking matter. He had to plan what to do. The first matter would be to get to the one place any traveler ended up eventually; Windia. The second would be to pray that the souls had been reborn in easily identified bodies, like ones with blue hair or royal blood. Jeric gathered up supplies he might need for spells along the way and began his journey as quickly as possible.
